    Hi,
    I’m building and developing a website for a friend (http://dev.brillianttv.co.uk), I’m trying to apply an image background and failing miserably. I’ve applied it, but you can’t see when you preview the site. Can anyone shed any light please? Apologies if this has been covered already, but I can’t see if it has or not.

    Many thanks.

    Hello there,

    What image you are trying to apply and where ?

    It is a header image or body background image or what ?

    Regards

    Hi Jerry,

    Thanks for the response.

    It’s a body background, I tried to apply it via the following method:

    Appearances -> Background -> Background image

    The presets are set to fill the screen. Just nothing happens.

    I can provide a screenshot if you want?

    Many thanks,
    Iain

    Actually you have set body background image (http://dev.brillianttv.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/back-ground1.jpg) but the main issue is that you are using a full-width theme layout style so image is not visible since theme is stretched 100% in width for any screen resolution.

    Try setting a boxed layout style and you will see that body background image is working normally.
    Appearance -> Layout -> Layout Style

    So conclusion is: The body background color & image is working only with Boxed layout style.

    Best Regards

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply, which has been great help.
    I’d like to make the background a page background, rather than the page being white. Any easy way to do this with Agama Pro?
    Many thanks again,
    Iain

    Try next:

    1) Go to Appearance -> Csutomize -> General -> Additional CSS & add next CSS code:

    #page.site { background-color: your color code; }

    Best Regards

    Hi,
    Yep that worked thank you, so I could change that and make it so that an image is displayed instead could I?

    The other thing was, at the top of the website at the moment, can I make the white semi transparent header, completely transparent so that there’s only the menu icons there? I’m trying to shift the logo down a bit, but do I need to create another threat for this?

    Many thanks again.

    Hi,
    The background I’ve figured out by inserting a hyperlink :).

    Hello Jerry
    I am trying to do the same by inserting the css code #page.site { background-color: rgb(240, 240, 240, 0) }
    The idea being to have a fully tranparent background for each page, under which my website background will be visible.
    But it doesn’t seem to work. Could you help me?
    Thank you

    Hello,

    If you want fully transparent background, probably this code will work for you.

    #page.site { background-color: transparent; }

    If you want transparent footer area, insert the code below into
    Customize->General->Additional CSS

    code:

    .footer-widgets { background-color: transparent; }
    footer[role=contentinfo] { background-color: transparent; }

    Best Regards
