Display an image for each post in the blog main list / change the style of date

Hello,
I have two questions related to the main page of my blog:

How can I display the featured image of my post on the main list? There seems to be an icon, but not the real image from the post …

How can I change the way the date is displayed? I do not like that style with a huge day and month/year so much smaller …
