Lukasz
ParticipantHi there,
I have updated WordPress to the newest one and am having troubles with building a post. While I’m inserting a gallery of a few pictures into the post there is no space in between the pictures. The another issue is putting pictures in two or more columns. While it is done in the editing section, the preview does not show the pictures as set in columns, but one underneath another also without any spaces in between them. Is there any way you could help me solving the issue with the lack of the spaces and the columns?

ModeratorHello, Lukasz!
Have you tried to use Elementor Page builder + Image Galery widget?
https://youtu.be/2ucAGvpGT_0If you want to try this, set your page template as “Elementor full width”

ParticipantThank you Zex,
yes, I know Elementor and will consider using it. However, it is the basic new WordPress function that should work well. I use WP on another theme and have no issues with organising the gallery into columns or proper spacing. The only solution is putting pictures one by one with an image block instead of creating one fast gallery. Please let me know if there is anything else you could do about it.
with regards
Lukasz

ModeratorHello, Lukasz!
You didn’t mention what method you are using to create the gallery, but I tried both- the Gutenbergs Image Galery block, and also inserted the Galery by classic method- using Classic editor, and both ways work fine for me.
Gutenberg
Classic EditorMaybe you have a conflict with some of the additional plugins you have currently activated.
To check this, deactivate all active plugins temporarily and try to insert the Image gallery, if the option works now, activate the plugins one by one until the problem reappears, so in that way, you will find the problematic plugin if any.Regards

ParticipantHello, Zex,
thank you for all your suggestions.
I’m using the Gutenberg Blocks and try to insert pictures using the ‘gallery’ block and organise the shots into 3 or more columns. It does look well in the draft, but when you go to preview, it does not look the same as it in the draft section (instead of three neat columns there would be two with one large shot below; instead of 4 columns, there’s just three put in disorder with no spacing in between them, etc.). I have already deactivated all the plugins and it did not helped. Using Elementor on top of it would add an extra unnecessary work.
Is there any other way we could solve it?Would appreciate your help.
Thank you.
Lukasz

ModeratorHello, Lukasz!
The Gutenberg plugin is still in heavy development and that can be the reason for the problem you have, so I do not recommend using it.
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/gutenberg/reviews/maybe you should try some additional plugins :
https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/gallery/
https://prnt.sc/oqg0h4Anyway, if you want to use the Gutenberg make sure everything is up to date.
I have tested WordPress v 5.2.2 and Agama Pro v 1.4.9. and Image Gallery block works just fine.Image Gallery test
Which version of the WordPress are you using?Regards

ParticipantThank you again Zex!
I’m using WordPress 5.2.2 and Agama Pro v 1.4.9 and everything seems up to date.
Also, I’m doing it exactly the same way as in your Image Gallery test – thank you for conducting it!
Still what I receive in the preview of the post is a disorder.Looks like switching back to the Classic Image editor is the best solution now.
Thank you for your time and help!

ModeratorHi,
I have one more suggestion…
Try to change the Post Format.
It sometimes helps.
https://prnt.sc/oqhw2dIf that doesn’t help, try to do it in a classic way.
Regards

ParticipantThank you Zex. Still, it does not change anything.
Anyway, I did the job with the Classic Editor already and this is what I should stick to.By the way, super last question – I have just added an audio to my post but I can’t change the size of the audio tab or align the audio tab to the centre as all the pictures are. Would appreciate any suggestion on it 🙂
