Turn off article on the home page

Hi,
I am trying to turn off articles from appearing on the home page. I removed all the articles, but I get the message below on the home page. I would like to control where the articles can appear (such as sidebar) on the site.

“Nothing found
We apologize, but no results were found in the requested archive. Maybe a search will allow you to find a similar article”

From what you write, I think you need to set-up a static FrontPage.

If that is the case, please follow the guide from next link:
How to set up a static homepage

Next, you will need to enable your Slider and Front-page boxes to show on the Static Frontpage.
To do that,please , follow the instructions from the next post:
